The Ancient City of Ani, which transcends borders like rivers
(This is a sample photo-interview project of mine)
26 Ağustos, 2023'te Kars'taki Ani harabelerini ziyaret ettim. Medeniyetlerin beşiği mesabesindeki kadim bir şehir olan Ani Aras Nehri'nin bir kolu olan Arpaçay ırmağına komşudur. Ayrıca Arpaçay Türkiye - Ermenistan sınırını da belirler. Bu kadim şehir pek çok medeniyete ev sahipliği yapmıştır ve 1920'de Türkiye Cumhuriyetine katılmıştır. Ben, UNESCO Dünya Mirası listesinde bulunan bu kadim şehri foto-ropörtaj projem ile tanıtmak istedim. Muhakkak gidilmesi gereken Türkiye'nin uzak bir köşesinde bir bölge olan bu şehir pek bilinmez.
In English:
On August 26, 2023, I went to visit the Ani Ruins of Kars province. This ancient city, which is literally the cradle of civilizations and it is adjacent to the Arpaçay stream that is a branch of the Aras river. Also Arpaçay stream draws the Turkey-Armenia border. This ancient city has hosted many civilizations and joined the Republic of Turkey with the War of Independence in 1920. I wanted to include this ancient city, which has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, in my photo-interview project. It is a must-visit place in a region on the edge of Turkey, but is not well known.
